An experience that made me feel the most successful was being in my Biology 3 class. I did extremely well in that class. Out of the five tests we took I received one B and four A’s. I did well on all my labs and completed the course with an A and without having to take the final. What helped me in that class was taking notes and then rewriting them again afterward. I also formed a small study group with some of my classmates. Before and exam we would meet an hour before class and review with one another. I found this extremely helpful because sometimes I missed something in a lecture and someone would remind us about it. Sure enough, it helped cause there was always something I missed that ended up on the test.
After my failed math exam for my midterm reflection I began to study more in math. I would go over the lesson by myself at home. The professor never went over everything so I had to do a lot of self-teaching for this course. It was difficult, but I had to do it in order to pass. I would workout different problems and then check if I got them right. If they were wrong I kept doing them over and over until I found out where I was making a mistake. This helped a lot, and on the next exam I received a B.
From these I learned that I tend to be more focused in certain subjects. So with that, I found that the more time I spend focusing on math the better I did. That took away time from studying from biology, but even with less time focused on that class I was still doing very well. I have overcome a lot in my first semester and for that I can say, I am proud of myself.
