During H.A.R.D.D. Summer we were asked to think about where we see ourselves in the future in the form of this question: "Where do you see yourself when you grow up?" I found it interesting because as a little kid you're asked what you want to be when you grow up, and now that in more grown up this question really made think hard about my answers beyond astronaut or pop star. Now that I'm on a serious path in life, I really thought about long and hard about it and continue to everyday.
Informational Interview Reflection
The person who I decided to interview was Ed Urspringer. He was my eighth grade science teacher. I decided to interview this person because they helped spark my interest in the science field back in middle school. He grew up in Los Angeles with his parents and two brothers and graduated from high school in 1980. He received his bachelors degree in biological science from CSULA then gained his teaching degree before going back to gain his masters degree. He has been teaching physical science and physical education for over twenty years. He still teaches today and has also taught one of my sisters, and she too loved his class. He made learning fun and allowed us to get involved in a lot of hands on learning. As I get older I would consider a teaching job for grade school kids because I would love to inspire kids and spark their interests like he did with me and many other students. He is a very encouraging and inspiring person, and I will forever carry much of what he has said and taught for the rest of my life. From him I learned to just continue being myself regardless of what other people say and that as long as I work hard I can reach my goals.

Career Reflection
The story of who I see myself becoming begins as a child. Growing up I always had dreams of becoming an astronaut or a veterinarian, but I never thought I'd ever chose to take my interest or exploring aquariums and searching tide pools and chose to make a life and career out of it. I ended up choosing to major in marine biology because we don't know about much of our oceans. Oceans make up about 70% of our planet and we only know about 3-5% of them. I want to be someone who goes and discovers more of it, because all these discoveries can contribute to research and make the world more aware of what is really out there. This semester my story has developed more through the people I've met. I've come across, an continue to still, so many people with different minds, similar interests, and a diverse range of goals. Everyone of them are currently working so hard to reach their goals no matter how hard the struggle is, and it encourages me to work harder myself. I see myself becoming a wildlife biologist or aquarist when I first start out in my career, and successes that I've had are assignments that allow me to talk about my field of interest and have me research deeper into it. Someone who has helped me view myself differently would be my significant other, Diego. He really believes in what I can do and in my dreams. He encourages and motivates me to work hard and his belief in me has me seeing myself as capable of doing whatever I aim to do. I've become more hard working and confident because of him. I believe that as long as I remember my dreams and continue to work hard I can make that life a reality. As of right now the only information that I know can really help me is to continue with my studies. But one question I do have is, how can I succeed when things get harder than expected?
