The first half of my first semester went by a lot faster than I expected it too. It started off pretty easy, but once midterms came closer the work kept piling up. Within the last two weeks I had a few tests, a paper to turn in, two small research assignments, and one midterm. Overall, I have been enjoying college though. All my professors are wonderful, they are all willing to help us if we ask for it (and go during their office hours of course.) English 1A has been a little difficult, but I've been able to manage. I really enjoy that class because the professor explains everything thoroughly and my English course is based on Disney and American values so it's not too bad. College 1 has been the most stressful because I receive a lot more work from this one class than I do from any of my other classes. It has been a bit enjoyable though because the book we are reading is quite interesting and the students in that class are very insightful with one another. Biology 3 has to be my favorite and most successful class.
This is my most successful study implement. These are my notes from my Biology 3 course. In this class it is really important that I stay organized and on top of things because we obtain so much information in just one lecture. My in class notes are usually a bit sloppy and not legible so outside of class I take some time to rewrite my notes. This is also a very helpful study tool because I am reviewing the entire lesson again while making my notes easier to read for other study sessions. Now for Math 131, this is my more difficult class.
This is my least successful experience so far. Yikes! This is the second test I took in my Math 131 course. I'll admit, I didn't study much for this test. Once I got it back I was extremely disappointed in myself because I know I could have done better. So after getting this back I wasn't too worried because my professor drops our lowest test grade, but it showed me that I need to step up to the plate with better strategies for my next math test. So I will get a head start on studying and hopefully get a higher score on my next test. The three things I will do to improve are:
1. Study more so I can comprehend the material better.
2. Ask for help when I'm having trouble.
3. Focus more in class.
Overall, college has been a great yet stressful experience so far. It's still only the beginning, but I'm already looking forward to what's ahead!
